Say no more.Not like me to say no more so..I thought I had better update the website with a few things that happened in 2020.We complied fully with the lockdown rules as they stood. Since the 23rd of March the workshop was closed and it did not open until the end of July and then on the 4th of August this happened.
Flooding in Milton Road.That was only the start of our troubles because shortly afterwards the landlord decided that we had overstayed our welcome and we got a notice to quit our industrial unit. This seems strange at this time but it is a strange world at the moment and it turns out our neighbour on the estate decided to expand his sales outlet and has ended up with our unit. Make of that what you want but rather than put up a fight we decided to go because as much as we had fun there over the years it was a very expensive luxury and took a lot of money out of the budget. We could never get adequate insurance cover on the site due to previous flooding in the area so there was many an anxious night as the river came close to bursting its banks as we worried what would happen if it did. The big problem we faced was " what do we do now?" It was decided that as far as possible we would hold onto all our equipment and try and keep most of our moulds and part built cars. All of the tools went to Grahams workshop and the moulds and tooling went into a container. It was a massive job getting the move done but we did it. The workload increased again when all the gear had to be sorted, boxed and stored at our new base. To be fair we were doing nothing else and it came at a good time as we had decided that we would give racing a miss this year and concentrate on some of our own projects instead. That plan then changed again as a result of the old Kung Flu and then changed again when we were forced out of the unit. It is also a one man band at the moment thanks to the restrictions on folk gathering and so getting the move and restructuring done when we did worked out rather well.
